El Templo Surf House

El Templo Surf House

Location

Legend has it that the mythical Pico Alto wave reaches 10 meters on its best days. Known to locals as “El Templo,” it's one of the most challenging waves in Peru.

El Templo Surf House takes its name from it and has a front-row seat to this spectacular wave. Set in the most exclusive and secure gated community in Punta Hermosa, El Templo Surf House has a one-of-a-kind energy of connection with nature and the sea, steps from more than 10 of the town's waves.

If you want to connect with nature and still have all the comfort you could ask for, El Templo Surf House is the place for you.

We'll be waiting for you!

La Isla

1 km

An incredible right-hander. On a good day it runs from the point all the way to the shore. Super long and really powerful. From land it looks small, but once you reach the point it earns your respect. Ride it on the best-paddling board you own, because it moves a lot of water.

El Paso

500 m

Only locals and pros surf here. It only breaks when the sea is big, but when it does, it's a three-meter mass of water with incredible barrels. You do need to know the currents so you don't end up on the rocks.

Caballeros

800 m

A gorgeous right-hander. When the swell hits it right, it's a super fast wave with incredible barrel sections. It's a good card to play when the sea is big because it holds up well.

Señoritas

500 m

The Punta Hermosa left-hander. A fast, really fun and pretty solid wave. Being so close to the rocks gives it an incredible extra shot of adrenaline. Always worth checking.

Punta Rocas

3 km

The most consistent wave in the world, or so the locals say. It breaks on every swell size, small, medium and big, though when it's big only the good surfers paddle out. It's generally a point break of right-handers, but some days the left-hander is picture perfect.

San Bartolo

8 km

Sanbar always delivers, it's a regular stop. There are right-handers, left-handers, the left-handers off the right-handers and the right-handers off the left-handers. Hands down the most complete point, with waves for every swell size and every level of surfing. It's the card that saves you on those days when the sea is huge.

Puerto Viejo

31 km

A big but very friendly left-hander. It's a long wave with really fun sections, one of those beaches where everyone has a great time. You can almost walk to the point. It's long and easy to catch, with a good section at the end.

Cerro Azul

86 km

Every goofy-footer's favorite left-hander. It runs perfectly and it's super long. Plus you can walk out to the point thanks to a big rock that shields you from the pumping waves. There's a pier right next to it that makes your surf photos look incredible.

The kindness, the attention, the service and the quick solutions to everything needed for an excellent stay. Without a doubt, when planning a trip to Punta Hermosa again I would come back to this place. The hosts are super friendly.”

As for the Surf Camp, everything was excellent: the service, the attention and the kindness. As for the surf, I'm a beginner and honestly I had a blast. At first I was a little scared because maybe the waves were too big for me. But not at all, there are waves for all levels, and Gianca and Colo were awesome, teaching and helping me. Super grateful for the good vibes!”

The location is very good, about 2 blocks from the boulevard and 3 or 4 from the beach. The continental breakfast was very good. The atmosphere felt very family-like. They recommended good places to eat and were very kind the whole time. Very good value for the price. I would come back without a doubt!”
